With this year we present you a new tool. At the begining it was thought and developed for internal use only but now may be usefull for you.
As permanent consumers of personal webs and blogs of the Comic, Illustration and Graphic Story worlds, we met two basic problems:
After going through several stages craft (like follow the chain of links recommended by the author of each site or write the links and then visit the sites...), we have chosen to make a tool that we call:
vistaweblogs
.
Our two problems resolved: the existing resources in one clic and able to check the new contents without flooding of the browser tabs and the ability to move quickly to the site of the author. All this within a single web page and without appropriating the features of the site that show.
vistaweblogs
is not a flat list of links to websites. In fact, the source code of the page has no a single link.
More info about this tool
here,
at the Forum.
Accesses
vistaweblogs
and keep in view what you want. Actually with more than 600 referrals and continue adding...
Buy - Sell - Change
The second new is about the
Forum.
As if someone broke to use the forum for exchanges (economical or not) with relation to anything that has to do with the Comic and Illustration, we have just open this
topic
that you can use for such purposes.
We do not carry commissions or intervene in transactions between users. Just say please, use it in a responsible manner.
The Web Comic Project status.
After the
initial page
(the comic's seed by thewebcomicproject team) there is one branch in the story:
Ivan Shooter sent us a nice and imaginative draw. Inspired in our logo man and total opened storyboard.
View page
El Juan Pérez has just continued the comic from the page of Ivan Shooter. A nice colored mixed-work that drives the story in an unconventional interesting way. The branch grows robust.
View page
On the other hand contributions to the
Galery
and the
Directory of Authors
grow.
Our goal is simply to serve as a platform for disseminating the work of authors, amateur, novice, professionals ... in the world of comic and illustration who have an active presence on the net.
As you'll see, there is everything and everything is very worthy of taste.
And to end, we encourage you to participate in the
Forum.
Say everything related to the comic and illustration worlds, write about the idea of the Project, open the topics that you seem,.... it is yours.
This is the idea of the Web Comic Project and how you can join it adding your own page.
The Story
Nothing predefined, all to do. Only any illegal or offensive material will be refused.
The project is a compromise between traditional comic on paper media and the digital art.
Texts (when necessary) must be in english. Spanish project at: www.thewebcomicproject.com/es
The narrative line is built based on the existing material of previous authors. The structure of the story must not necessary
be lineal: anywhere, at any moment, you can add a page as the next alternative page of an existing one. Another author may continue yours and so on.
This makes the web comic project a tree form structured story where probably some branches no longer grow.
Board style
Nothing predefined, all to do. Use colored and/or black & white draws, animations, sounds...
Is your work to make a fine transition from existing material toward your page. Please, note that any
author must do the same so do not close the argument neither the story board style.
Be aware that it's a good practice to avoid the abusive usage of animations and sound effects.
Format
You may choose between this two ways to send your work:
A plane (static) image of your page: 793 pixels width x 1122 pixels height (DIN A4), in any web browser readable
raster format (JPG, PNG, GIF...).
A page built in HTML pure format: size 21cm x 29.7cm (maximun of 793 pixels width and 1122 pixels height), cross-browser compatible.
You can not use elements or code that requires any kind of plug-in or external component (like Flash, ActiveX...) to load the page.
Do not use link tags in the HTML code that reference external sites or files (i.e. files or resources located in other web sites). All needed files and data to load the page must be
sent together.
How to add your page
Send your page data and files to:
Especify the number of the page or the author you want to continue from (see the author's name of each page in the navigation bar at the top of the story pages or at the
story map).
Do not forget to include in the mail's body your name and, if desired, your web site and comments in order to add you to the directory
of authors.
The webcomicproject will approve the incomming pages after a few revision to ensure a minimum of quallity and they don't
have offensive contents such as those that promote hate, violence, or racial intolerance.
